Radiesse - Hydrafill [TOP]

Radiesse

Radiesse is long lasting, re-absorbable filler.

Initially launched into the USA In 2000 as Radiance FN, this dermal filler was introduced into Europe in June 2004 under the name Radiesse.

Radiesse is a medical device devise designed for the correction of small and large soft tissue deficits, but also can be used for facial shaping and contouring. In general, calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHa) the key component of Radiesse has been safely used in the human body for 25 years in several indications.

When injected into soft tissue, fibrous encapsulation of the microspheres creates volume in the treatment area. Radiesse appears to provide a longer term result than pure Hyaluronic acid based fillers as it is gradually replaced by the body’s own tissue and slowly dissolves away over a 18 month or longer period.

Hydrafill - Info - Uses - Timings - Summary

What is Hydrafill™?

Hydrafill™ is a long-lasting gel that, once injected into the skin with an ultra-fine needle, lifts and adds volume to the areas being treated. Similar to one of the body's own natural substances (hyaluronic acid), it is a completely safe treatment. The hyaluronic acid in Hydrafill™ simply supplements the body's age-depleted hyaluronic acid to plump-up the lip or to raise the skin and 'fill in' the particular wrinkle being treated.

What is Hydrafill™ used for?
Hydrafill™ is an excellent treatment for:

  • wrinkle correction
  • lip enhancement
  • smile lines (correcting thin, superficial lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead)
  • deep folds
  • shaping facial contours (such as cheeks and chin correcting)
  • volume augmentation of the lips

Hydrafill™ is not suitable for deep wrinkles and certain types of acne scar.

Treatment timings?
Treatment time is approximately 30 minutes.
The effect of Hydrafill™ will vary from individual to individual. It very much depends on factors such as the person's age and lifestyle, the structure of the skin, and the degree of perfection required. Most patients however choose to have a further treatment within a year since the hyaluronic acid, being a natural substance, dissolves over time.

In summary

Hydrafill™ is quick and extremely effective. Since the product is not extracted from animals, there is no risk of an allergic reaction. As one of the main components of the product, hyaluronic acid, occurs naturally within the body, no 'patch test' is required. Treatment may commence immediately after consultation and results are instantaneous.
