Botox/Dysport Aftercare - Microdermabrasion Aftercare - Dermal Aftercare (Radiesse+Hydrafill)

Botox/Dysport Aftercare

  • Do maximise facial activity for half an hour after treatment.

  • Do not lie down for three hours immediately after treatment.

  • Do not go to sleep for three hours after treatment. Botox/Dysport only works on a muscle when it is active.
    • There is a risk that lack of facial activity can result in ineffective treatment but maximum unwanted effects.

  • Do not massage, poke or prod the area.

  • Bruising may occur, but this is temporary as is any swelling and redness.

  • Results cannot be guaranteed and any further treatment is charged for separately. Results vary greatly and
some treatments last longer than others due to multiple biological factors, even although you may have the
    treatment before.

Botox/Dysport Possible Side Effects

  • Slight redness at the injection sites – This is temporary lasting about 20 minutes. You may conceal this if you
    wish.

  • Mild headache and local tenderness – May last 48 hours but is not severe enough to require medication.

  • Raising of the eyebrows – This is usually temporary, correcting itself after approximately two weeks.

  • Drooping of the brow – More common in older patients, but again is temporary and usually self-correcting.

  • Drooping of the eyelid – This is a very rare and temporary event. It may be corrected with eyedrops.

  • In some older patients because of the poor tone of their muscle they feel heaviness over the eyebrows. This lasts
2-3 weeks. Usually in older patients a lower dose is injected to prevent this from happening.

  • After several treatments, very rarely some patients become resistant to the drug i.e. it no longer works
    effectively.

  • Results cannot be guaranteed, as this is a function of individual variation. Further treatments are charged for
    as separate items.

Microdermabrasion Aftercare

  • Following your microdermabrasion treatment you may experience some redness on the treated areas accompanied by a warm glow. This will last for several hours but should have settled by the following morning
  • Moisturise regularly following the treatment as you may experience some dryness 3-4days later.

  • We advise the use of SPF of at least a factor 25 and avoiding the use of any creams that are in any way irritating.
  • We advice you gently exfoliate 5 days after your treatment

  • Remember – cleanse, moisturise & protect
The AGERA skincare system is an excellent complementary range of products for Microdermabrasion please ask for more details.

Dermal Aftercare (Radiesse+Hydrafill)

  • Immediately after treatment, there maybe redness, tenderness, swelling and itching at the treatment site. This is normal and as a result of the injection. This usually is temporary and in general can last up to 72 hours. If this inconvenience persists, or if other reactions occur, please contact the clinic. Other types of reaction a very rare and approximately 1 in 2000 experience localised reactions thought to be hypersensitivity. These usually consist of swelling at the implant site sometimes affecting the surrounding tissues. Redness, tenderness and rarely acne-like reactions have been reported. These reactions have either started a few days after injection or after a delay of 2 to 4 weeks. These are mild to moderate and are self-limiting, not requiring treatment with duration of two weeks.
  • Initial swelling of the lips may last longer. Some patients experience swelling for up to 10 days, during which time, the lips may look uneven. This initial effect should not be seen as the final result.
  • Refrain from touching the area for 1 hour after the treatment. After this time you may wash gently with soap and water and apply makeup if so desired. Massaging as demonstrated by Dr Toni will help to give a smooth contour and minimise any lumpiness
  • Massage for five minutes, three times a day for two weeks after the implant.
  • Until the initial reaction has subsided, please avoid extremes of temperature to the treated area.
  • If you have suffered from Cold Sores, the treatment may activate the virus and you may need to apply anti-viral cream.
  • If you have been taking Aspirin or related drugs such as Nurofen or Voltarol, there may be more bruising and bleeding at the injection site. This is also true around menstruation.

The implant gradually dissolves over a period of time .The rate of dissolution varies from individual to individual. No guarantees can be given as tho the length of time the treatment lasts or the final oucome. Smoking, use of sunbeds and unprotected sun exposure will seriously compromise the effectiveness of the treatment.
